4//CCR: integrating technologies

When making Flair magazine, we integrated many technologies and softwares. Firstly when planning for the photo shoots for the magazine as well as the whole design and layout of the magazine we used the internet to our disposal and used pinterest to plan and organize everything out. In this way we all knew what we had to do and what style and vision we were each going for.

Furthermore, for the making of the logo and magazine itself we used adobe products, in particular adobe illustrator and photoshop. We used these programs because after a very short research we learned that these are the programs widely used by designers and publishers when making real life magazines and publications.

In terms of hardware we used a camera to take the photos and our own personal laptops to design the magazine.

As for the post-design process- after the magazine was made, we used various platforms and technologies to present the magazine in a presentable and easy to follow way. We used Adobe Photoshop to create mock-ups of the magazine. We learned that this is a technique used by many designers when presenting their design creations, mock-ups can be used to simulate anything- mugs, merchandise, logos, books etc. Continuing, we also wanted to find a platform that would allow us to present our magazine and for the process of reading the magazine to be as raw and close to reality as possible (where the reader can actually flip through the pages). For this we found the platform issuu, that allows us to do just that.
